Four LSF Athletes confirmed for The GHMF!

LSF Athletes can receive up to £2,500 in funding

Four Lifestyle Fitness Athletes have now had funding confirmed for their respective sports, all through The Gordon Hall Memorial Fund!

The fund was set up in memory of Gordon Hall, our Managing Director from 1998 to 2019, who sadly passed away in 2019. The aim of the fund is to provide financial support to our employees, personal trainers and members who train with us and compete in a recognised sport at a national or international level on a self-funded basis. This was something Gordon strongly believed in.

The first four of our athletes for 2022 compete in a mixture of sports and come from different areas of The UK. Keep reading for a look at the current roster of LSF Athletes!

ADAM COURTNEY
Adam is a member at Lifestyle Fitness Ballymena, a part of Ballymena & Antrim Athletics Club and also Athletics NI Youth Academy.

Adam was chosen to represent Ireland as part of the 400m team. Adam is currently ranked 10th in the UK in his category, and is currently looking to compete at the European level.

LUCY ASTON
Lucy is a member at Lifestyle Fitness Spennymoor, the newest addition to the LSF Athlete roster!

Lucy competes for Team GB in Tumbling and is the latest member of ours to to benefit from the GH Memorial Fund. Her latest trip with Team GB was to Azerbaijan for the Acrobatic Gymnastic World Championships, which saw her rank 14th for her age range.

CALLUM SPENCER
Callum, who is a member at our Stourport branch and competes for Samurai Judo Club, is an athlete in British Judo.

Callum recently fought in a weight category above his own, won five out of five of his competitions and secured a gold medial. This helped him automatically gain 40 points towards his 2nd Dan black belt.

MATTHEW DOUTHWAITE

Matthew is a member at Lifestyle Fitness Shildon. Another short distance sprinter, Matthew specializes in 400m but is also competing at the 200m sprint.

In 2018/19, Matthew ranked in the top 50 for his age group indoors and improved his 400m PB from 52.5 secs to 50.38 secs outdoors, placing him 2nd in the North East!

Could you benefit from funding?
We can't wait to see how far all four will go in their respective sports, and look forward to supporting them further through the fund.

Do you think you, or someone you know, could benefit from The Gordon Hall Memorial Fund? If so, speak to your local club or email enquiries@lifestylefitness.co.uk for more information!
